TBS – Traditional Building Solutions was formed in 2006 located in Trim Co. Meath. Our many years of experience offer full engineering and fabricating facilities for bespoke and special requirements. What We Offer

Traditional Building Solutions is the largest stockist of metal rainwater systems in Ireland, stocking cast iron and aluminum, offering both standard and bespoke guttering and downpipe systems to all nature of projects including conservation, new build and refurbishment for both domestic and commercial applications.

We import and distribute high-quality Cast Iron, Cast Aluminium, Extruded Aluminium, Copper rainwater systems and traditional Cast Iron soil pipes. All our traditional cast iron rainwater and soil pipe products are manufactured in grey iron and conform to BS460 for rainwater goods and BS416 for the soil goods. All aluminium products conform to BS2997 : 1958 (1990).

Cast Iron

Extremely strong, durable and vandal resistant. Dimensionally accurate and stable with a life expectancy in excess of 40 years. Cast iron is 100% recyclable. Authentic sand castings combine traditional manufacture with modern quality control and standards to create a high-quality range of traditional cast iron gutters. TBS cast iron guttering has simple or spigot, wet sealed and bolted joints and are available factory primed or pre-painted.

Suited to traditional craft based contracts, Closely replicates historic styles for both flush and projecting eaves applications. Complies with BS 460:2002 Cast Iron Rainwater Goods. We carry two standard gutter profiles in stock, Half Round ( 5” and 6” ) and Moulded ( 5”x 4” and 6”x 4” ). We also stock Round and Rectangular Downpipes in the following sizes ( 3” & 4” and 4”x 3” & 5”x 4” ) complete with all the necessary fittings.

Cast Iron Soil

TBS has a comprehensive offering of heritage style socket and spigot pipes and fittings for soil and waste installations on the external façade of buildings. The option of bespoke fabrications for special order provides added flexibility to provide solutions for projects.

Suitable for new build, conservation, and listed building projects these durable Cast Iron soil pipes provide years of service for external applications.

Cast Aluminium

A full range of traditional gutter profiles with simple spigot joints, wet sealed and bolted with an extensive range of fixing options. TBS cast aluminium gutters are manufactured using modern aluminium casting techniques and are factory finished.

Extruded Aluminium

Extruded aluminium guttering offers many advantages over ferrous and plastic systems, such as lightness, great looks, corrosion resistance and flexibility in design and manufacture. Unsurprisingly, aluminium rainwater systems are now the preferred choice for much modern architecture.

The new extruded aluminium gutter range offers an economical metal gutter system available in a range of profiles and sizes.

Bespoke

Many bespoke commissions start with a client who is trying to reproduce a casting in the style or shape of a pattern which is no longer available. TBS’s in-house technical team will be able to work with either a sample from site to replicate an existing casting or a detailed drawing to create a product to a completely new design.

Deciding on a material can be tricky and shouldn’t just be done on design alone, consideration also needs to be placed on the life cycle of your chosen material.
